Deacon Be Readin'

1 Peter 3:19-20

19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the long-suffereing of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Throughout the Deacons days, I have always heard preached and in song about during the three days after the resurrection, that Jesus descended into Hell, and ministered to the lost souls therein, and forceably took the keys to death and Hell away from Satan...However, upon recent searches, I have found nothing in the Bible to correlate this...However, my fathers sent me an e-mail a couple of weeks back telling me to look up 1 Peter 3:19...from my studies since this e-mail, this appears to be only one of two or three references to Christ descension into a lower region...Dake's Annotated Bible refers to Christ descending into Tartarus...Tartarus in apparently referred to primarily in Greek mythology is at the lowest region of earth....Also, according to Dake, these souls that Christ ministered to while there, are angels, rather than human souls...Will update this post more as other sources can be gathered and researched.

Freedom of Speech?

What is freedom of speech? That is a question that has been plagueing me for some time now. As a former student of Media, I know that there are several levels of protected speech, but, that must have been an old model. These days, I can't speak openly, and freely of my God, but, Jo Blow over there can constantly talk about his sexual exploits with someone of the same sex, openly. Hmm? What's up with that? Who then really, has the freedom of speech in this case? Sure, not everyone is going to want to hear what he says, but, Heaven forbid we say anything to him for this. Then we are "Gay Bashing". Personally, I don't agree with homosexuality. In my opinion, it goes agains everything moral and decent, plus, the KJV of the Holy Bible clearly says that it is wrong. However, what you do is your own business. Just because we don't see eye-to-eye on some issues, doesn't mean that I hate you, or are attempting to "bash" you becuase I speak my mind and thoughts.

Every time that I read about the rights of a Christian getting trampled on for attempting to spread the Word of God, I can't help but think about what Rome must have been like. Well, think about it, today could be considered similar. Christians are captured by Roman guards (police) for spreading the Word openly to the people. The are arrested and placed in jail (collaseum), they stand trial (does the Roman ruler let them go...Judge, Ceasar?), and they are sentenced (death).

Now don't get me wrong. I am not "Gay Bashing" on here. As a matter of fact, two of my closer friends live this alternate lifestyle, so stop right there if you are thinking that this is an attempt to bash. I only want a simple question answered. What is freedom of speach? Who does it apply to?

All right...been way too long since the Deacon has update his blog...but, hopefully things are going to change about that.

Finally, there is an end to the Freak Show...as anyone who is alive knows by now, a jury of 12 of MJ's peers (I really want to know where they found 12 other freaks like him...maybe from Uranus or something) acquited the freak on all 14 (10 major and the 4 lesser) counts. Don't you love how the term innocent was never used to apply to MJ? Come on. How many of you watch WWE RAW last night? Even they know that the freak should have gotten to spend some time in a big house with other "Innocent" guys, who would treat him just the way that he would treat a little kid (Read: break out the vasoline, we're starting a jiffy lube). A rough quote was that Kurt Angle "got by with more with HHH's wife than MJ did"...

Like I left in the comment for the Rev, MJ "could" have been "not guilty" this time, but, going by the past and what all the jurors could have considered, there has definately beens something going on, and I've always been told, where there is smoke, there is fire....

DEACONS FINAL THOUGHTS: If the old saying of where there is smoke, there is fire, then Michael Jackson is a pedophile flamer...Can I hear an Amen from the congregation?

News from the Front....

Ok boys and girls...I know that everyone has been wondering when the deacon would update his blog...well, your wait is over...The past couple of weeks the deacon has been a bit preoccupied and has turned his back on his faithful followers...For this, I apologize....I will do my best to update this at least every other day from now on.....

Wow, it's been several days since I came in and updated this thing....a lot has happened...apparently, I have been deemed worthy of a blue badge after a year here...I had to go take my drug test on Tuesday, personally I didn't think they were that good though. LOL.....actually, there have been some interesting news items in the past couple of days....anyone see where in Virginia, the state senate voted and passed on a bill that will find anyone whose pants are bagging down and they are showing their undergarments in a way that is meant to be "cool" and the "in thing" $50 per offense? Man, I wish we could get some bills like that around here...I am so sick of seeing these peoples underwear....Kudos to Virginia for being ballsy enough to take the first step of this...But, of course they are coming under fire from minority groups claiming discrimination....however, the two leading men on the bill are both the same minority! You can get the full story here.........Also, pay attention to the last few lines of this article....Since when is showing someone your underwear an expression of free speech? So, basically it's ok if I offend you by showing you my underwear, but, I start preaching in the streets, then I am offensive...The Deacon has a hard understanding this logic.....Can someone please explain this to me?

Some things never change I guess...Once again, Bush is being blasted by Kerry...this time, for not mentioning Osama by name...check out the last quote from Kerry...well nevermind...here it is: Kerry added that he was disappointed that Bush did not mention by name al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden (news - web sites). And then he warned, "Wherever that terrorist ... is hiding tonight, he should know America will never rest until we've destroyed him and his terrorist network."

Is it just my imagination, but didn't Kerry take a weaker approach to the war on terrorism a couple of months ago? So now he is all in favor of taking him out huh? I guess a cheetah never loses is spots...for this reason, I guess he will forever be the flip-flopper that we all have come to know and tolerate....
